Historic Motor and Sail (or HMS for short) is the pride and joy of Mal Nicholson and his wife Val Nicholson.
Over many years they have acquired, restored and lovingly looked after a number of vessels of historic importance along classic cars with the aim of preserving history for this and future generations.
Their work on HMS Pickle has been described by a Royal Naval Historian as "the nearest this world is ever likely to have to the original".
Mal and Val are surrounded by a team of volunteers and enthusiasts who together, restore and maintain the historic displays as well as sailing both HMS Pickle and Spider T to various events throughout the year. Without these volunteers and the incredible support of the general public it would not be possible to maintain the collection for future generations.
Historic Motor and Sail are a Community Interest Company (CIC) number 11144632 registered in England with Companies House.
Can you help support us?
The HMS historic collection takes a lot of maintaining and these requires large amounts of funds to keep it going. Along with the day to day maintenance on our historically important vessels and vehicles, we aim to restore and preserve the collection for the enjoyment of all, now and in the future. If you are able to donate even a small amount, it would be greatly appreciated and will go a long way to helping us preserve these parts of history.
