Captain Cook Festival – Cook250 Whitby
July 6 @ 4:00 pm - July 8 @ 6:00 pmFree
Join us to celebrate the achievements of Captain James Cook on the 250th anniversary of the beginning of his voyages into the then uncharted Southern Oceans.
HMS Pickle will be arriving into Whitby at approximately 10:30 on the morning of Friday 6th July 2018 along with the Spanish sailing vessel Atyla.
Both ships will be open to the public throughout the weekend for you to look around and embrace the nautical feel of the festival.
Along with visiting us, you’ll be able to enjoy live cookery demonstrations (including our very own Captain Mal Nicholson), live music, a selfie trail throughout the town, heritage plays and demonstrations, a maritime themed bar with a commemorative festive beer and much more!
Like fireworks? You won’t want to miss the spectacular display on the Saturday evening at 21:45 in the lower harbour.
